Riverside Parks and Recreation
E. H. Young Riverfront Park

This stunning park, situated on the banks to the Missouri River, has wide-open spaces and excellent amenities, inluding a lovely open amphitheater. E. H. Young Riverfront Park often plays host to large regional events, such as the annual Riverfest and the Highland Games. Smaller musical, theatrical, family and community events take place here, as well.

Running and Walking Trail

A beautiful paved trail circles the park under leafy trees and past verdant wetland areas – ideal for walking, jogging and running.

Pavilions and Play Areas
Two reservable pavilions hold up to 100 people per shelter. There's a large children's playground– including a fun sandy "beach" play area. E. H. Young Riverfront Park features a volleyball sand pit, a horseshoe pit and ball field, which can be reserved. For reservations please contact the Community Center at 816-741-4172, Monday through Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm. Additionally, two smaller picnic shelters that accommodate up to 25 people are available on a first come, first served basis.

Scenic and Historic Riverside Overlook
Accenting the beauty of E. H. Young Riverfront Park are several historic landmark plaques along the scenic overlook river walk area – including information showing the Lewis and Clark Trail. ADA compliant sidewalks are accessible from the parking lot, several handicap parking spaces are available and concrete ADA ramps connect the ADA accessible restrooms.

The Park's Benefactor
E. H. Young Riverfront Park was made possible by a donation of approximately 100 acres by Edward H. Young, the founder of the Riverside's Red X general store. Mr. Young served Riverside for many years, as an Alderman for 14 years and as Mayor from 1976-1980. Read more about Riverside's history
