Riverside City Services

A Welcome Letter
from David Blackburn, City Administrator

Welcome to the City of Riverside– a premier location for development in Kansas City's Northland. Riverside is the location for your commercial prospecting. With 800+ pristine acres available for development, you'll have prime opportunity.

Riverside is the location for commercial support. Our infrastructure is state-of-the-art thanks to riverboat funding resources. Interstate and major thoroughfare access is exceptional, including I-635 to the West, Mo. Hwy 169 to the East and the Mo. Hwy 9 East-West corridor. You and your clients will benefit from ready access to both rail and air transportation.

Riverside is the location for attracting employees. City amenities include a hallmark park system, linking trails and one of the top school districts in the metro area. With a strong sense of civic pride, Riverside residents will welcome you to their town.

There has never been a better time to consider Riverside for your development projects.

Power Outage 101

Who do I call?  If your power is out, please call KCPL at 1-888-544-4852 (1-888-LIGHTKC).  They will make note of the outage and respond as soon as possible.

Should I call the City or report it to 9-1-1 also? No.  City staff or the 9-1-1 operators are usually aware of the outage already.  Calling 9-1-1 may clog phone lines for those who need to report a true emergency.

But doesn’t the City have access to people at KCPL who can get it fixed faster?  Only for life-threatening situations.  City staff and 9-1-1 operators must report general power outages to KCPL like everyone else to the number that is provided above.
