Licensing Your Pet

Who must license their pets?
All Riverside residents are required to obtain a license for their dog(s) and cat(s).

When are licenses due?
Licenses are due to the City Clerk's office by January 31st of each year. Licenses filed after that date incur a late fee.

What paperwork must be submitted?
A completed Pet License form must be filled out. Certification of rabies vaccination must also be submitted for dogs. You can download a printable Riverside Pet License in PDF format from the Document Center at top right of this page or request a copy of the form in person at the City Clerk's office.

What are the fees to license a pet?
Dog license fees are $6 ($4 if spayed or neutered).
Cat license fees are $0 (while there is no fee, licenses are still required for cats).
